Securities Commission Bridges Semiconductor Funding Gap with Capital Market Escalator at Penang Roadshow

Penang, 19 August 2026 – The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) has launched the inaugural edition of its nationwide industrial capital market roadshow series in Penang, aiming to bridge funding gaps for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and mid-tier companies (MTCs) across Malaysia’s high-value semiconductor supply chain.

The landmark roadshow, titled “Powering SemiCons: Financing Your Next Breakthrough”, gathered more than 150 leaders across the semiconductor and capital markets ecosystem, including component manufacturers, automated test equipment providers, venture capital partners, private equity firms, and market regulators. Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow delivered an address at the event, underscoring the state’s strategic role as the anchor of the nation’s advanced manufacturing corridor.
