Malaysia’s Connected Healthcare Push Moves Digital Integration Into Execution

Kuala Lumpur, 13 August 2026 – Malaysia’s effort to build a more connected healthcare system is moving from policy ambition towards coordinated execution, with an initiative led by the Academy of Sciences Malaysia placing interoperability, trusted data use and technology adoption at the centre of reform.

The programme, highlighted by Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Chang Lih Kang, signals an attempt to connect the country’s fragmented health information landscape rather than add another isolated digital platform.
