Tokyo, 13 August 2026 – Google has opened its first directly operated retail store outside the United States in Tokyo’s Omotesando district, turning Japan into a strategic test market for a more integrated hardware, services and artificial-intelligence experience. The flagship brings Pixel smartphones, Nest products, Fitbit devices, accessories and partner products into a physical channel designed for discovery, purchase, support and education.
The Omotesando location sits on the ground floor of Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Omokado and allows customers to collect online orders, receive device setup assistance and access in-store Pixel repairs. It also provides demonstrations showing how Google’s AI capabilities work across daily tasks. That combination is important because advanced software features can be difficult to communicate through specifications alone; a guided retail environment can make the ecosystem’s value more tangible.
