Hanoi, 12 August 2026 – Vietnam’s state-controlled gas company is sounding out suppliers for a possible second long-term liquefied natural gas contract, seeking more predictable fuel supply as the manufacturing economy builds its LNG market.
The proposed five-year arrangement would cover 250,000 to 450,000 metric tonnes for the Thi Vai terminal, with deliveries beginning in January 2027 or later. The request was sent to potential suppliers in June as a market-sounding exercise, and no formal tender has yet been announced.
