Google Gemini Reaches One Billion Monthly Users as AI Race Tightens

San Francisco, United States, 12 August 2026 – Google’s Gemini artificial-intelligence assistant has surpassed one billion monthly users, giving the technology group a major distribution milestone as competition among consumer AI platforms intensifies.

Chief executive Sundar Pichai described Gemini as Google’s fastest-growing product and the company’s 14th service to reach one billion users. The count covers use of the Gemini application across Google’s ecosystem, where artificial intelligence is being integrated into search, Gmail, Maps, YouTube and other products.
