Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 11 August 2026 – Malaysia’s industrial production increased 6.5% year on year in June, maintaining solid expansion but falling short of the 7% market forecast and slowing from an upwardly revised 8.5% increase in May.
The latest reading indicates that factory and resource-sector activity continued to support economic growth, even as the pace moderated from the previous month. May’s figure had initially been reported at 8.4%, making the revision modest but reinforcing the strength of the earlier expansion.
