Pekat secures RM31.3mil switchgear contract from TNB

KUALA LUMPUR: Pekat Group Bhd, a solar power solutions provider, has secured a RM31.32 million contract from Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) for the maintenance and repair of switchgear equipment.

The contract, awarded to its 60%-owned subsidiary EPE Switchgear (M) Sdn Bhd, also covers the supply of both air-insulated and gas-insulated switchgear to TNB.

According to Pekat’s filing with Bursa Malaysia, the contract will run for two years, with an option to extend for an additional year. The company expects the deal to have a positive impact on its future earnings.

On Monday, Pekat’s shares closed one sen or 0.67% lower at RM1.49, valuing the group at RM961 million.
