Putrajaya, 7 August 2026 – Malaysia’s sovereign investment ecosystem is pivoting from raw capital accumulation toward connecting high-potential enterprises with domestic funding pools, as the Ministry of Finance released the first full-year progress assessment of the Government-Linked Investment Companies (GLIC) Activation and Reform Program (GEAR-uP). Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan emphasized that the country possesses abundant liquidity, making the matching of institutional capital to growing domestic enterprises, supply chains, and technology innovators the central priority of state-backed financial reforms.
