Malaysia Urges Industry to Build Trusted Digital Capabilities as AI Adoption Accelerates

Kuala Lumpur, 6 August 2026 – Malaysia is calling on businesses and technology providers to strengthen cybersecurity, adopt artificial intelligence responsibly and build trusted digital capabilities as digital infrastructure becomes increasingly central to economic activity.

Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil said innovation must be accompanied by stronger security, resilience and public confidence as organisations embed digital technologies across their operations. His comments underline the government’s view that trust is becoming an economic requirement rather than merely a compliance consideration.
