Washington, 6 August 2026 – The United States has processed approximately US$100 billion in tariff refunds after the Supreme Court invalidated duties imposed under emergency economic powers, creating a major cash-flow adjustment for importers while leaving businesses exposed to a newly reconfigured trade regime.

A filing in the US Court of International Trade showed that refunds covering both duties and interest had been completed through the customs processing system, certified by the relevant agency and forwarded to the US Treasury for disbursement.
