Alibaba Raises China’s AI Stakes With 2.4-Trillion-Parameter Qwen3.8-Max

Hangzhou, 3 August 2026 – Alibaba Group has introduced Qwen3.8-Max, its largest and most capable artificial intelligence model to date, strengthening the Chinese technology group’s position in an increasingly competitive global market for enterprise-grade AI.

The new multimodal model contains 2.4 trillion parameters and supports a context window of up to one million tokens. That capacity enables it to process extensive source material, including lengthy documents, software repositories, images and video, within a single workflow. Alibaba said the model is designed for coding, research, workplace applications and complex assignments that require sustained execution.
