Cupertino, 3 August 2026 – Apple’s newly redesigned Siri AI is bringing the company closer to ChatGPT in conversational capability, but the two assistants remain built around different strengths: Siri is designed to understand and act within a user’s devices, while ChatGPT remains stronger for open-ended reasoning, research and content creation.

Apple’s new assistant represents a major change from the command-based Siri familiar to iPhone users. Powered by Apple Intelligence, Siri AI supports natural conversations, broader general knowledge, onscreen awareness and access to personal context across messages, emails, photos and other applications.
