Port Hedland, Australia, 28 July 2026 – Wage negotiations between BHP and unions representing workers at its Port Hedland iron ore operations have ended without an agreement, keeping labour uncertainty alive at one of the world’s most important bulk-export gateways.
Further discussions are scheduled over the coming week after both sides failed to finalise a four-year enterprise agreement. The Combined Ports Unions represents workers across several unions, while electrical trades representatives are also expected to hold separate talks with the miner.
