Kuala Lumpur, 27 July 2026 – Malaysia has secured a potentially valuable competitive advantage in the United States market after retaining a 10% tariff rate while several major ASEAN export rivals were placed under a higher 12.5% levy.

The difference places Malaysian exporters in a comparatively stronger position against competitors from Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and the Philippines. Cambodia and Indonesia are among the other ASEAN economies that qualified for the lower tariff tier.
