Iran Signals Pause in Retaliatory Attacks if US Maintains Air Strike Halt

Dubai, 27 July 2026 – Iran has indicated it will suspend retaliatory military operations as long as the United States maintains its pause on air strikes, offering a potential opening for renewed diplomacy after nearly two weeks of escalating military exchanges.

A senior Iranian official said Tehran’s position remains based on the principle of “attack for attack”, meaning military operations would cease if US strikes also remain suspended. However, the official warned that Iran is prepared to respond forcefully should Washington resume attacks.
