Thailand Raises Concerns With China Over Tank Deliveries to Cambodia

Bangkok, 20 July 2026 – Thailand has raised concerns with China over the delivery of military tanks to Cambodia, warning that the development could heighten public anxiety and complicate efforts to preserve stability along the Thai-Cambodian border.

Thai officials said the issue was conveyed to Beijing as Bangkok continues monitoring Cambodia’s receipt of Chinese-made T-59D tanks. An initial batch of 39 tanks was delivered under an agreement that China said had been arranged before the latest deterioration in relations between Thailand and Cambodia.
