Last updated on December 25, 2025

KUALA LUMPUR: KPJ Healthcare Berhad (โ€œKPJ Healthcareโ€) has signed a strategic multi-year agreement with LAC Medical Supplies Sdn Bhd (โ€œLAC Medical Suppliesโ€), a subsidiary of LAC Med Berhad, to implement a centralised Enterprise Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) across its nationwide network of 30 hospitals. The new system will be supplied by Philips and implemented by LAC Medical Supplies.

The signing ceremony, held at Menara KPJ, marks a significant milestone in KPJ Healthcareโ€™s digital transformation under the KPJ Health System, with full implementation targeted within 24 months.

The enterprise PACS solution will connect KPJ hospitals on a single imaging platform, enabling secure access and real-time collaboration among clinicians. It will also be integrated into the KPJ Cares mobile app, giving patients convenient and secure access to their medical imaging results.

Leaders on the Transformation Journey

Chin Keat Chyuan, President and Managing Director of KPJ Healthcare, said the partnership underscores KPJโ€™s commitment to advancing digital healthcare in Malaysia.

โ€œThis initiative marks a milestone and a step forward in the KPJ Health System transformation journey, moving us towards a more connected and patient-centred model of care. By linking medical imaging across all 30 hospitals, with plans to integrate it into the KPJ Cares app, we are enhancing patient access, supporting clinical collaboration and building a system that is more efficient and responsive. This is an investment not only in technology, but in the quality, safety and overall experience of care we deliver to our patients and communities.โ€

Liew Yoon Poh, CEO of LAC Medical Supplies, added:

โ€œLAC is proud to support KPJโ€™s enterprise imaging programme as part of their digital transformation journey. This subscription-based approach is designed to deliver measurable value in terms of clinical efficiency, patient experience and operational performance.โ€

Dr Shez Partovi, Chief Innovation Officer and Chief Business Leader at Philips, said the technology will enhance both clinician efficiency and patient outcomes.

โ€œPhilips is proud to support KPJ with our next-generation Enterprise PACS technology, built for speed, security and scalability. Our platform enables real-time image access across the enterprise, supports AI-enabled diagnostics and streamlines radiology workflows, helping clinicians make confident decisions and improving patient outcomes.โ€

Secure, AI-Enhanced Platform

The Philips PACS solution offers KPJ a centralised, secure platform for storing, accessing, and sharing medical imaging data. It comes with AI-driven visualisation tools, multi-site capabilities, and robust compliance features. These capabilities are expected to enhance diagnostic accuracy, streamline workflows, and safeguard patient confidentiality, while supporting scalability across KPJโ€™s expanding hospital network.

This partnership reflects KPJ Healthcareโ€™s strategy of continuous innovation, combining clinical care, education, and research to strengthen Malaysiaโ€™s private healthcare landscape.
