Anthropic Raises Funds at US$965 Billion Valuation, Overtaking OpenAI in AI Race

San Francisco, 29 May 2026 – Anthropic has raised fresh funding at a post-money valuation of US$965 billion, overtaking OpenAI and reinforcing how aggressively investors are pricing the next phase of the artificial intelligence race.

The company behind the Claude chatbot said it raised US$65 billion in its latest Series H funding round, giving it one of the highest valuations in the global private technology market. The new valuation places Anthropic ahead of OpenAI, which was last valued at US$852 billion in March, intensifying the rivalry between two of the world’s most closely watched AI developers.
