Kuala Lumpur, 29 April 2026 – Malaysia has extended the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign to 2027, giving the tourism industry a longer recovery runway as global uncertainty, air travel disruptions and geopolitical tensions weigh on international travel patterns.
The decision was made by the National Economic Action Council, with the government citing the need to provide more time for the global tourism industry to stabilise amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Despite the extension, Malaysia will retain its original targets of attracting 47 million international visitors and generating RM329 billion in tourism revenue.
