SINGAPORE, 28 October 2025 – Universal Vapor Jet Corporation (UVJC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Universal Display Corporation (Nasdaq: OLED), has officially launched its global headquarters and R&D centre at Mapletree Hi-Tech Park @ Kallang Way, Singapore.

The 8,000-square-foot facility houses UVJC’s corporate headquarters, state-of-the-art research laboratories, and prototype manufacturing space, supporting the innovation and commercialisation of its proprietary Universal Vapor Jet Printing (UVJP) technology. Over the next five years, UVJC will invest S$50 million (US$39 million) in tools, equipment and talent to accelerate research and development.

Supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), UVJC’s new facility will create high-value jobs across technology, engineering and strategy, further anchoring Singapore’s role as a global hub for precision manufacturing. The company is building a multidisciplinary team spanning process and product engineering, software development, and advanced materials.

Revolutionising Precision Manufacturing

UVJP is a next-generation, solvent-free printing and deposition process that enables cleaner, faster, and more efficient thin-film manufacturing. The technology’s ability to print materials with microscopic precision, without solvents or masks, has potential applications across semiconductors, displays, life sciences and clean energy.

“At UVJC, we’re building the foundation for the next generation of clean manufacturing,” said Chandran Nair, CEO of UVJC. “Singapore’s innovation ecosystem, supported by institutions like EDB and A*STAR, provides the ideal environment for us to advance our mission and serve global markets.”

With over 26 years of international leadership experience, including senior roles at AEM Holdings and National Instruments, Nair brings deep operational expertise to drive UVJC’s growth across Asia, Europe and the United States.

UVJC will collaborate with several A*STAR research institutes, including the Institute of Microelectronics (IME), Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), and Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech), to co-develop sustainable and commercially viable solutions in semiconductors, healthcare and advanced materials.

“A*STAR looks forward to partnering with UVJC to advance sustainable manufacturing,” said Beh Kian Teik, CEO of ASTAR. “Together, we can combine strengths to deliver industrial and societal impact.”

From OLED to Universal Applications

Originating from UDC’s Organic Vapor Jet Printing (OVJP) platform for OLED displays, UVJP extends this solvent-free, mask-free technology into broader industries. Potential applications include semiconductor chip packaging, solid-state batteries, organic photovoltaics, and pharmaceutical smart dosing systems.

“Under Chandran’s leadership, UVJC’s Singapore HQ marks a pivotal step in advancing Universal Vapor Jet Printing globally,” said Steven V. Abramson, President and CEO of Universal Display Corporation. “Singapore’s deep-tech ecosystem makes it the ideal base for transforming cutting-edge science into market-ready solutions.”
