KUALA LUMPUR, 22 October 2025 — Maxis has announced a strategic partnership with global telecom solutions provider Globe Teleservices Pte. Ltd. (GTS) to deploy an integrated AI-powered firewall for messaging and voice traffic across its network in Malaysia. The fully managed, end-to-end solution aims to enhance network security, service quality, and the integrity of international messaging traffic for millions of Maxis subscribers.
Under the initiative, Maxis and GTS will jointly define and enforce firewall policies for international messaging and voice traffic terminating on the Maxis network. Powered by advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) models that analyse aggregated global traffic, GTS’s Armour Firewall enables rapid fraud detection and mitigation with 24/7 monitoring and continuous testing.
The system is designed to block spam, grey-route bypasses, and large-scale fraudulent operations such as SIM farms — ensuring stronger network protection and seamless communication for Maxis users.
“Customer trust and experience are central to Maxis,” said Prateek Pashine, Chief Enterprise Business Officer of Maxis. “This partnership with GTS strengthens our international messaging and voice defences, applying AI-driven controls and continuous monitoring to ensure messages reach subscribers securely and efficiently. Businesses benefit from stronger delivery assurance, while consumers enjoy safer, uninterrupted connectivity on our reliable network.”
Ashutosh Agrawal, Group Chief Executive Officer of Globe Teleservices, added: “We are proud to partner with Maxis to protect messaging and voice channels at scale. Our AI-enabled Armour Firewall combines intelligent threat detection with global delivery expertise to safeguard networks, enhance service quality, and reduce value loss from fraud and bypass.”
Through this collaboration, Maxis and GTS are helping to reinforce the foundations of a secure, high-quality digital ecosystem in Malaysia — one that supports innovation and aligns with national priorities under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP), including cybersecurity and the country’s ambition to become an AI-driven nation.
