KUALA LUMPUR, 19 October 2025 — The Largest ASEAN SME Trade Event 2025, officially recognised by the ASEAN Records, SME Venture@ASEAN 2025, concluded yesterday with remarkable success.

Organised by SME Corp. Malaysia, the three-day event generated RM520 million in potential sales through 424 business matching sessions, drawing 13,850 visitors to the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur.

A total of 364 SMEs and 60 buyers participated in the GoASEAN Biz Match programme. Notable Malaysian corporations included Mydin Mohamed Holdings, Aeon Co (M) Berhad, and UDA Holdings (through its Mari Mart and KIRANA brands).

They were joined by international buyers such as Autel Robotics (China), Jiuhua Century Investment Limited (Hong Kong), PLUS Exploration Co., Ltd (Thailand), Karl Group Holdings Corporation (Philippines), Dare Company Limited (Myanmar), and Wot-Natural Khmer Moringa (Cambodia).

Held in conjunction with Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship, the event showcased regional SME innovation and capability, fostering cross-border collaboration and advancing ASEAN’s growth agenda.

Under the theme “Bringing ASEAN Closer to You,” the event highlighted the pivotal role of SMEs as the backbone of regional economies.

Across three days, 370 exhibitors from high-impact industries and consumer sectors presented innovative products and services, including 62 international exhibitors representing ASEAN countries, Germany, India, Japan, Oman, and Taiwan.

In addition, 19 SMEs took part in Pitch2Go, a fund pitching session connecting them with private equity firms, venture capitalists, and peer-to-peer financing platforms, securing a total of RM70 million in funding and investments.

The Closing Ceremony was officiated by Dato’ Sri Khairul Dzaimee bin Daud, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development (KUSKOP), with Dato’ Adam bin Abd. Ghani, Managing Director and CEO of TEKUN Nasional, was also in attendance.

“Building on the success of this event — both in financial outcomes and strategic collaborations — KUSKOP and SME Corp. Malaysia reaffirm our commitment to strengthening SME capacity to venture beyond domestic markets. Under the 13th Malaysia Plan, we aim to drive long-term growth, boost competitiveness, and ensure sustainability. Enhanced market access is vital to position Malaysian SMEs as strong global players,” said Khairul Dzaimee.

At the same event, Rizal bin Dato’ Nainy, Organising Chairman of SME Venture@ASEAN 2025 and CEO of SME Corp. Malaysia, shared that the event had fully met its objectives of connecting entrepreneurs, inspiring innovation, and fostering ASEAN collaboration.

He added that the strong participation and trade outcomes reaffirm Malaysia’s leadership role in driving SME growth and intra-ASEAN trade under its Chairmanship.

The event also featured two major forums: the ESG Forum, co-hosted with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA); and the ASEAN SME Forum, co-organised with the Small and Medium Enterprises Association of Malaysia (SAMENTA). Nearly 500 participants attended the sessions on 16 and 17 October 2025.
