KUALA LUMPUR, 23 October 2025 — Luckin Coffee Malaysia has received Halal certification from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) for its outlets at Sunway Velocity 2 and AEON Maluri, underscoring the brand’s effort to align with Malaysia’s halal standards and consumer expectations.
The certification reflects growing recognition of Halal as a mark of quality and trust in Malaysia’s food and beverage industry, extending beyond its religious significance. It also positions the China-based coffee chain to better serve the country’s diverse customer base as it expands nationwide.
“We are proud to assure Malaysians that Luckin Coffee is now officially Halal certified. This represents our commitment to ensuring that every customer can enjoy our beverages with full confidence,” said Dr Jeff Lim, Chief Executive Officer of Luckin Coffee Malaysia.
Since entering the Malaysian market in January 2025, the company has sought to localise its operations and meet national regulatory standards.
According to Ahmad Aminurrashid bin Abd Aziz, Halal Compliance Manager at Luckin Coffee Malaysia, the certification process was supported by a dedicated internal team to ensure compliance across sourcing, supplier selection, and store operations.
“Obtaining Halal certification was a top priority even before our official launch in Malaysia. Every aspect of our operation — from raw ingredients to preparation — has been aligned with Halal requirements,” Ahmad said.
Luckin Coffee Malaysia plans to roll out Halal certification across additional outlets in stages as part of its broader expansion strategy. The company currently operates multiple locations across the Klang Valley and aims to strengthen its presence nationwide amid positive market growth in Malaysia’s coffee segment.
To mark the certification milestone, Luckin Coffee will hold a two-day promotion offering drinks at RM3.99 from 30–31 October at participating outlets, excluding Highlands Hotel, Genting.
