KUALA LUMPUR, 6 October 2025 — The Kuala Lumpur Tower glowed with festive warmth and artistic brilliance over the weekend as the LSH Legacy Cup Mid-Autumn Lantern-Making Competition drew families, children, and art enthusiasts together in a vibrant celebration of culture and sustainability.
Organised by LSH Capital Berhad in collaboration with Menara Kuala Lumpur, the event transformed one of Malaysia’s most iconic landmarks into a beacon of creativity, featuring lanterns that blended traditional artistry with modern environmental awareness. Themed “Green Mid-Autumn: Light of Tomorrow,” the competition highlighted the importance of eco-conscious design, encouraging participants to craft their lanterns using recyclable and sustainable materials.
From colourful paper lanterns inspired by nature and folklore to intricate 3D creations that mirrored futuristic cityscapes, each entry told a unique story of imagination and purpose. The competition attracted enthusiastic participation from across Malaysia, reflecting how cultural festivals continue to bridge generations and communities through shared creative expression.
Tan Sri Datuk Seri Lim Keng Cheng, Non-Executive Chairman of LSH Capital Berhad said the Legacy Cup represents the company’s continued commitment to nurturing young talent while supporting environmental stewardship. “We believe art and sustainability can coexist beautifully. This event is not just about celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival—it’s about empowering the next generation to think creatively, act responsibly, and build a brighter future,” the spokesperson remarked.
Participants were judged based on originality, craftsmanship, and innovation in the use of recycled materials. The winners, recognised for their exceptional creativity and design, received trophies, certificates, and gifts from LSH Capital as part of the company’s ongoing efforts to promote community engagement and environmental awareness.
Beyond the competition, the event at Kuala Lumpur Tower featured captivating cultural performances, storytelling sessions, and mooncake-sharing ceremonies. Visitors and families were treated to a joyful evening under the glow of hundreds of handmade lanterns, creating a mesmerising atmosphere that celebrated Malaysia’s diverse cultural traditions and community spirit.
For many, the evening was more than a competition—it was a reminder of the enduring charm of the Mid-Autumn Festival, reimagined through the lens of modern sustainability. Kuala Lumpur Tower, already a symbol of national pride, became a luminous stage for creativity, unity, and environmental consciousness.
The LSH Legacy Cup is part of LSH Capital’s broader initiative to support arts, culture, and community development.
