SINGAPORE, 29 October 2025 — As Singapore employers strive to balance hiring efficiency with candidate quality, Jobstreet by SEEK has rolled out a new verified education credentials feature within its SEEK Pass, enabling job seekers to pre-verify their academic qualifications directly on the platform.
The latest enhancement complements SEEK Pass’s existing verification features for career history and professional documents, giving job seekers a consolidated and credible profile. Introduced in December 2024, SEEK Pass initially enabled workplace verification, followed by an integration with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) in February 2025. Through the Careers & Skills Passport, users could verify their Digital Identity and Career History — a move designed to help employers assess applicants with greater confidence.
While Singapore continues to champion a skills-first economy, academic qualifications remain a key hiring signal. According to the SkillsFuture Jobs-Skills Insights Report, degree holders are now 74% more likely to secure higher-skilled jobs than non-degree holders, up from 61% a decade ago.
A Jobstreet survey of employers (October 2024) found that 75% believe pre-verified education credentials would streamline their recruitment process, saving time on background checks and reducing hiring risks. Platform data also revealed that 52% of job listings between July 2024 and June 2025 required tertiary qualifications, led by Education & Training (73%), Accounting (73%), Community Services & Development (72%), Science & Technology (71%), and Engineering (69%).
Data from Jobstreet (May–August 2025) shows that verified applicants are 40% more likely to be shortlisted compared to unverified candidates. Despite this, nearly one in three active job seekers (31%) have yet to update their education credentials since July 2024 — missing out on a simple yet impactful way to stand out in Singapore’s competitive market.
With job applications continuing to surge, employers are seeking faster, more reliable ways to identify candidates with proven qualifications and verified skills. The SEEK Pass update brings these elements together in a single digital profile, aligning with Singapore’s broader push for transparency, trust, and skills-based hiring.
The feature also complements Jobstreet’s Job Relevancy Campaign, reinforcing the platform’s commitment to smarter, data-driven job matching that benefits both employers and job seekers.
“Employers in Singapore are under increasing pressure to hire faster, smarter, and with certainty,” said Xavier Russo, General Manager of SEEK Pass, Jobstreet by SEEK. “By pre-verifying education credentials, we remove one of the biggest friction points in recruitment — doubt. SEEK Pass gives employers assurance, while helping jobseekers stand out based on verified merit and proven capability.”
