Securities Commission Malaysia Launches InvestSmart® Fest 2025 to Boost Investor Literacy and Scam Awareness

KUALA LUMPUR, 23 October 2025 — The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) will host its flagship investor-education event, InvestSmart® Fest 2025 (ISF 2025), from 24–26 October at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur, reinforcing its commitment to investor protection and financial literacy.

Themed “Bijak Labur Hidup Makmur”, this 12th installment of the annual forum is held in conjunction with the Financial Education Network (FEN) Financial Literacy Month and supports the newly launched National Strategy for Financial Literacy 2026‑2030, which aims to equip Malaysians with the knowledge to manage money wisely, protect against financial shocks, and access financial services confidently.

Investor protection is a pressing concern. In 2024, the SC received 3,602 public complaints and enquiries concerning unlicensed activities and scams, doubling the number recorded in 2020. In the first half of 2025 alone, the body has logged 2,039 complaints, a 51 % year-on-year increase, as illicit schemes exploit technology and regulatory gaps.

SC Chairman Dato’ Mohammad Faiz Azmi noted that while regulatory enforcement is strengthening, public vigilance is equally essential:

“The public must actively verify investment opportunities before committing,” he said.

ISF 2025 will offer panel discussions, interactive exhibitions, and over 45 exhibitors showcasing a range of capital-market products and services. Attendees can book free one-on-one financial planning sessions under the #FinPlan4u initiative, with more than 500 slots available.

The event also features an anti-scam zone, developed in partnership with the National Scam Response Centre (NSRC), designed to educate visitors about the latest tactics used in investment fraud and how to protect themselves. Admission is free and the event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. each day.
